Scheduling a newborn photography session is an exciting way to capture you baby’s early days. It is best to plan ahead and schedule early typically in the third trimester! Here are a few factors to consider when determining the ideal timing for your newborn session:
Age~ Newborns are usually best photographed within the first 2-3 weeks of life. During this time they tend to be sleepier and more likely to curl up in those adorable poses that resemble how they were in the womb. Also they normally have softer smoother skin during this time frame.
Health~ It is important to prioritize your baby’s health and well-being. If your newborn has any medical concerns or complications, you may need to postpone the session until they are healthier.
Photographer Availability~ Newborn photographers often have busy schedules, so it is advisable to book your session well in advance to secure your spot.
Recovery~ If you had a complicated birth or a cesarean section, it’s essential to give yourself enough time to recover before scheduling the session. You will want to be physically and emotionally ready to participate in the session comfortably.
Flexibility~ Babies have their own timelines, and they may not always arrive exactly on their due dates. Be prepared for the possibility of your baby arriving earlier or later than expected, and always inform your photographer about any changes in the estimated arrival date.

Remember~ That every baby is different, and individual circumstances can vary. Speak with your photographer to discuss recommendations and preferences regarding the ideal timing for the session and what to expect during the session.
